The Thinking Tree

posted in Pregnancy, Viewed: 813 times

Designing the baby room took quite a bit of thought. While we know our first baby will be a girl, we plan on having a second child and they will need to share the same room. This means I didn’t want to paint the room pink or blue. I also didn’t want to do anything typical like some of the wallpaper borders I’ve seen. I wanted something that would inspire children. Something that would make them use their imagination or encourage them to just think. I usually find the outdoors does this, but how do you bring the outdoors inside? As I read through an interior design book, I found a mural of a big tree and I thought, “Yes! That’s it! All it needs is a magical door at the base.”

So after talking to Scott Willis, who is an artist, he put together a sketch that really captured the feeling…and now he’s made that sketch come to life! He has done an awesome job! I recommend him to anyone.

    Hi Shannon,

Svanik responded after looking at this tree-and said, “Nice tree - that’s Bart behind that door!” (He acted being outside it) “Knock Knock…Who is there?” and then replies to himself - “I am Svanik!” :)

    BTW- It’s awesome!!

I was really impressed with the abode for my little fairy to come. The colours are very pretty. And she will be growing in her place like a flowering tree spreading the fragrance all around.
